Bicchoo Ka Khel, set in the culturally rich city of Banaras, is a crime thriller that keeps you on edge with its intriguing plot. Directed by Ashish R. Shukla and based on Amit Khan’s novel, the series follows Akhil Shrivastav (Divyenndu Sharma), a budding writer turned vigilante, as he seeks justice for his father’s mysterious death.
The story begins with a shocking public murder during a university festival, setting the tone for the series. Akhil’s confession to the crime unravels a web of deceit, betrayal, and hidden motives through his gripping interrogation scenes. Divyenndu Sharma delivers a standout performance, blending wit, anger, and charm, reminiscent of his popular role as Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur.
The fast-paced screenplay by Ghalib Asad Bhopali and Gibran Noorani, complemented by Sunil Pillai’s cinematography, ensures viewers are hooked, though the rushed narrative can occasionally confuse. Kshitij Roy’s witty dialogues and the nostalgic inclusion of 80s Bollywood music add layers to the storytelling.
While the initial episodes shine, the climax falters slightly, leaving some viewers unsatisfied. Yet, strong performances by Anshul Chauhan and Rajesh Sharma make this series a must-watch for fans of suspenseful revenge sagas.
Bicchoo Ka Khel is an entertaining, if imperfect, ride through Banaras’ gritty underbelly.
